Matrix was proud to be on hand attending the LeadingAge Minnesota (formerly Aging Services of Minnesota) Institute Event February 10-12, 2015. An annual event, LeadingAge Minnesota Institute is the “premier conference for older adult service providers.”
This year’s event was no exception! Hosted at The RiverCentre in St. Paul for the first time this year to accommodate more people and programs, the event featured over 100 concurrent sessions covering “every imaginable topic under the aging services umbrella” – including home health care service in Minnesota.
The event’s Keynote Speaker, Tommy Spaulding (author of “It’s Not Just Who You Know”) spoke about “Return on Relationships: The Profound Payoff of Genuine and Authentic Relationships.”
“One thing that really resonated with me,” said Karen Lawrence, RN and owner of Matrix Home Health Care Specialists, “was Mr. Spaulding’s reference to caring for older adults and why we as caregivers do what we do, when he said:
“Think about why you got into the business of caring for older
adults. At our core, we are caregivers who strive to improve the
experience of aging and make a positive impact on the lives
of others. We care not only for people in their homes; but also
their families and our communities.”
That statement reflects our passion for caregiving and could have been made by any one of our caregivers at Matrix!”
